What an opportunity!
The Geleentheid Trust is a charitable organisation that awards scholarships to talented
young people who can’t afford to attend their high school of choice.
We’re currently supporting ten scholars.
A group of friends making a difference
The Geleentheid Trust was founded in 2008 by Michiel le Roux and Emile van Biljon. The idea originated from a late night conversation over a few beers and became reality soon after. What started with a bunch of friends giving something back has grown into a sizeable organisation.
Geleentheid Trust aims to give kids from poor communities the same sort of opportunities that its donors had when growing up.
Stellenbosch-based School Scholarships
We’re currently sponsoring six learners, one at Paul Roos School for Boys, one at Rhenish School for Girls, one at Bloemhof School for Girls and one at Stellenbosh High. One learner matriculated in 2013 and is currently studying at the University of Johannesburg.
We’re funded by monthly debit order contributions of typically between R150 and R300 from our members. At R300 per month, nine members can fund one scholarship. Currently around 50 members support the Geleentheid Trust. To donate click here.
