The following criteria are used to make the selection process, with 1 being the most and 4 being the least important:
1. Academic ability
2. Legitimacy of the need
3. Achievements in leadership, sport and culture
4. Stable home environment
Round 1: Applications
Candidates are filtered based on the applications they sumbit. Around 16 applicants are selected for Round 2.
Round 2: Tests
Round 2 applicants have to be available for testing on the weekend of 14-15 April 2018. The top 6 achievers will be selected for Round 3.
Round 3: Interviews
Round 3 applicants and their parents/guardians have to be available on Saturday 12 May 2018 for an interview and Sunday 13 May 2018 for a home visit. Two finalists will be announced after Round 4.
Round 4: School application
The Geleentheid Scholarship is only confirmed once the high school of choice confirms the candidate’s acceptance at the school.
